30+ Years. One Focus: Justice for California Seniors and Their Families.

The Lawyer
Stewart J. Levin, Esq.

Stewart Levin has practiced law in California for more than three decades, and for nearly all of that time he has focused on a specific problem: what happens when someone takes advantage of an elder, and how the law can be used to undo it.

He has tried these cases in civil and probate court across Southern California. He has been an invited speaker on financial elder abuse litigation at seminars sponsored by Continuing Education of the Bar and the Beverly Hills Bar Association. He has taught a clinical course at Southwestern Law School to law students and UCLA physicians on expert testimony in financial elder abuse and estate contest cases. As a result of cases he has handled, significant changes in the care of cognitively impaired adults and the elderly have occurred at no fewer than two major care institutions in Southern California.

What unites this work is a conviction that the law, applied carefully and aggressively, is genuinely capable of returning what was taken and protecting people who can no longer protect themselves.

An Educator in the Field

Since 2019, Mr. Levin has taught an annual symposium to UCLA geriatric psychiatrists on how to testify in elder abuse cases involving contested capacity and undue influence. He has also trained fellow attorneys in elder abuse litigation through seminars sponsored by Continuing Education of the Bar and the Elder Law Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association.

how he works

Mr. Levin prepares every case as if it's going to trial. That level of preparation—thorough evidence gathering, expert coordination, and decades of courtroom credibility—is why the substantial majority of his cases settle before reaching a verdict. Opposing counsel knows the case can go the distance, and that changes the calculus.

For the cases that don't settle, Mr. Levin has the bench and jury trial experience to see them through. His goals are straightforward: return what was stolen, compensate families fully, and ensure that those who exploit or neglect vulnerable people face real consequences.

“I've spent my career on these cases because they matter. When someone takes advantage of a person who can't protect themselves—whether through undue influence over an estate plan or a facility that ignored basic care—there should be real consequences and significant recovery.

If you're dealing with a situation like this, I'm happy to talk it through. The initial consultation is free, and I'll tell you honestly whether I think I can help. Most clients pay on a contingency basis—no recovery, no fee—though hourly arrangements are available for those who prefer them.”
